Laacher Basalt Chawan 0.35l anthracite

A 1000-year-old classic from China was used for this matcha bowl (Chawan). The shape is distinctive, timeless and perfect for preparing matcha - and that is precisely why it is still closely interwoven with the tea ceremony in Japan and is called a Tenmoku bowl.

In the Maria Laach monastery pottery, this bowl is made from special, regional clay with a high sediment content and a glaze made of dark basalt from the surrounding voltinic region to create an incomparable unique piece.
